PHS Honors Wrestlers at Senior Night
On Thursday, January 18, Peotone High School held its Wrestling Senior Night and honored seven team members. Congratulations and best of luck to the following wrestlers.
Mo Abunijmeh, the son of Shirin and Khalil Abunijmeh, is a four-year member of the wrestling team. Mo’s favorite memory from the wrestling team was using a spladle move on a Coal City team member. After high school, Mo plans on attending college and majoring in engineering.
Francisco Diaz, the son of Ana and Roberto Diaz, is a first-year member of the wrestling team. Francisco’s favorite memory is his first win at a match. After high school, Francisco plans on becoming an electrician.
Angel Farias, son of Rosario and Pedro Farias, is a two-year member of the wrestling team. Angel’s favorite memories from the wrestling team are just going and being at the meets, along with the bus ride on the way back, as it was always nice being around the others. After high school, Angel plans on attending college for a bachelor’s degree in business.
Kiernan Farmer, the daughter of Kelly and Shaun Farmer, is a four-year member of the wrestling team. Kiernan’s favorite memories are the rides home from wrestling tournaments and meets with Marco, Alex, Tino, Jackson, Seth, and Tim. We would be free-styling and one of us would always say something funny that would make us laugh ’til our faces were red. It made us unbelievably close as a team. After high school, Kiernan would like to attend a D1 school for wrestling, majoring in business and auto mechanics, and after college go to the Olympics or World’s team.
Santino Izzi, the son of Kathleen and Billy Izzi, is a four-year member of the wrestling team. Santino’s favorite memory from the wrestling team was making it to State with all his friends. After high school, Santino plans on getting a successful job in the trades.
Ian Edward Kreske, son of Angie and Josh Kreske, is a four-year member of the wrestling team. Ian’s favorite memory from wrestling was making it down to state and winning a match while there. After high school, Ian plans on attending the University of Northern Iowa to study to become a chiropractor.
Kurt Wagner, the son of Kurt Wagner and Kimberly Killey, is a first-year member of the wrestling team. Kurt’s favorite memory from wrestling was pinning his first opponent in front of his girlfriend and family. After high school, Kurt plans to go to the union and be a crane operator.
