January Meeting Highlights: Crete Area Chamber

The Crete Area Chamber of Commerce met on Wednesday, January 12, with six members present, plus three members attending via Zoom.

Items discussed were numerous, including the Chamber’s current membership drive currently was underway, with renewal available online or by mail.

The Farmers Market will be held on Mondays, rain/shine, from 4 to 8 p.m., June through August, plus Cruise Nights also will be held on Monday evenings from June – August.

Board of Director by-laws were amended, with directors to be appointed by the current Board of Directors. Julie Ciarlo, Jamie Healy, and Judy Petrungaro were appointed board members, with terms running until 2025.

Crete Country Christmas is looking for more people to get involved, with the next meeting scheduled on April 27.

Crete will install a new camera system to help deter crime or assist in solving any area criminal activity.

Putt Around Town is set for March 26, pending business sign-ups, and the Park District reported Earth Day will be held April 22.
