PHS Holds Cheer Team Senior Night
Peotone High School celebrated Cheer Team Senior Night at the basketball game on Tuesday, February 13.
Ava Daly is the daughter of Beth and Don Daly and a four-year member of the cheer team. Ava’s favorite memory from cheer team was when they hit their original routine for the first time at sectionals, plus being able to hit all the new stunts this year. After high school, Ava plans to attend JJC for culinary arts, then attend EIU to pursue a dietician degree.
Alexee Kennealy, daughter of Aimee and Chris Kennealy, is a two-year member of the cheer team. Alexee’s favorite memories from cheer team are hitting the OG comp routine and the Christmas party. After high school, Alexee plans on becoming an automotive tech or an electrician.
Grace Knauer is the daughter of Gina and Brad Knauer and a four-year member of the cheer team. Grace’s favorite memories from cheer team include going to Lake Zurich for a competition, stunting, and playing “Marco Polo” in the pool. After high school, Grace plans on attending college to pursue radiology and later would like to be a cheerleading coach.
Avery Postma, daughter of Christie and Jason Postma, is a first-year member of the cheer team. Avery’s favorite memory of the cheer team is hitting the competition routine at sectionals. After changing the routine several times, it was the first time the original routine hit in front of an audience. After high school, Avery plans on attending a four-year university, possibly the University of Iowa, for a bachelor’s degree in creative writing. With that degree, she has plans to be a novelist.
Marissa Reed is the daughter of Teri and Phil Reed and a two-year member of the cheer team. Marissa’s favorite memories from cheer team are the competition at Lake Zurich and staying up until 1 in the morning playing Roblox and Gartic Phone! After high school, Marissa plans to attend a four-year university and major in biology.
