May 8, at approximately 6 p.m., a rear-end crash on Monee-Manhattan Road resulted in the issuance of a citation to Gregory Sauls-Sanders, 19, of Richton Park, for following too closely. Both parties refused medical treatment.

May 9, in the early morning hours, officers responded to two separate stolen vehicle complaints on Egyptian Trail and County Fair Drive. Both units were late model KIAs, and both units were recovered in the Streamwood area within 24 hours of the thefts. No arrests have been made at this time. MPD reminds Monee residents that if you own a KIA or Hyundai, we have steering wheel locks available for you at the PD.

May 10, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Mary Walen-Fry, 65, of Beecher, was cited for failure to yield, after she entered the roundabout and was struck by a vehicle that was already in the roundabout. No injuries reported.

May 11, at approximately 12 a.m., a traffic stop for lighting issues ended with a suspended driver’s license arrest and a citation for unlawfully tinted windows. Joseph Bednarczyk, 26, of Kankakee, was processed and bonded.

May 15, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a Monee-Manhattan Road traffic crash sent two individuals to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Debra Vicidomini, 61, of Monee, was cited for following too closely.

May 15, at approximately 9 a.m., officers took a report for theft on Lilac Avenue. An unoccupied home had nearly $5,000 worth of copper piping removed sometime in the past few weeks. Investigations is following up.

May 15, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Esmeralda Camarena, 20, of Chicago, was charged with cannabis possession and multiple traffic violations after being stopped on Monee-Manhattan Road. Investigators also are following up with a credit card that didn’t have Esmeralda’s name on it. She was processed and bonded.

May 17, at approximately 4 p.m., a Monee-Manhattan Road traffic stop ended with Mireya Linda Reyes, 30, of Chicago, being cited for driving while suspended and no insurance. She was processed and bonded.

May 17, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Jayde Avant, 20, of Glenwood, was arrested for theft at the Amazon facility. He was transported and processed.

May 21, at approximately 9:45 a.m., officers responded to the Super 8 Motel for a disturbance. A family dispute ended with a broken car window and Sarah Al-Saawi, 37, of Monee, being arrested for criminal damage to property. She was processed and bonded.
