The American Cancer Society is seeking volunteers in Kankakee County to be a part of the annual Relay for Life event scheduled on June 10. Community volunteers lead and organize each local event with the support of society staff. From assisting with planning the annual event to taking part the day-of, there are various volunteer opportunities for interested community members.

Anyone interested in forming a team, joining the committee, or volunteering at the event is encouraged to attend the Relay Kickoff on Monday, March 20, at the Majestic Theater, 150 N. Schuyler Avenue, Kankakee, from 6:30 – 8 p.m.

“The Relay for Life movement is all about our community uniting to finish the fight against cancer,” said Michelle Sadler, event co-chair. “We rely on the support of volunteers to help make the Relay for Life of Kankakee County event a success.”

To join the Relay for Life of Kankakee County as a committee member, day of event volunteer, or team participant, contact Michelle Sadler, event co-chair, at mlsbears@comcast.netor, or call ACS staff partner Michelle Pruitt at 708-384-2807 or michelle.pruitt@cancer.org.
