Adult Winter Reading Program runs through February 29. Stop by the library and get a winter reading bookmark and read for a chance to win a gift basket! Every participant will get a PPLD Magnetic Chip Clip, plus one lucky winner will receive a gift basket.

Youth Services

January 11: Young Adult Book Talk, Thursday, online, at 5 p.m. Ms. Sarah will introduce YA titles from the library’s new section.

January 13: Stuffed Animal Workshop – Monee, Saturday, from 10:30 -11:15 a.m. Listen to winter stories and create a winter friend at the Monee Heritage Center. Registration required. Please register each child individually, with no registration required for adults.

January 13: Stuffed Animal Workshop – Peotone, Saturday, from 1 – 1:45 p.m. Same as above, please register for only one session – either Monee or Peotone.

January 16: Bookworm Buddies, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., ages three-to-five years.

January 16: Take and Make Tuesday, while supplies last.

January 17: Little Learners Storytime, Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m., ages zero-three.

January 18, Middle School Book Talk, Thursday, online, at 5 p.m.

January 20: Family Movie Matinee, Saturday, from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Free – call for movie title, but please register.

Adult Services

January 11 – 13: Adult take-and-make 3D unfinished wood snowman ornaments continues through Saturday. Pick-up at front desk, while supplies last.

January 11: Speculating Our AI Future Panel Discussion, Thursday, online, at 7 p.m. Join the group for a panel discussion featuring three best-selling science fiction writers – Cory Doctorow, Ken Liu, and Martha Wells, who will discuss the promise, perils, and possible impacts AI will have on our future. Event made possible by Illinois Libraries Present. Register.

January 15: Adult Movie Matinee, Monday, at 11:30 a.m. Join others for a movie, with snacks and drinks provided; Register.

January 17: Computer Basics One-on-One, Wednesday, from 11-11:30 a.m. A staff member will devote 30-minute time slots to help with computer needs, including computer basics, setting up an email account and sending attachments, creating resumes, learning how to use the Internet or a word document – you decide. Call to reserve a time slot.
