Spread the love

October 9, at approximately 5:45 p.m., a traffic stop on Monee-Manhattan Road resulted in the arrest of Kenneth A. Zavoral, 45, of Midlothian. Zavoral was stopped for driving with expired/invalid registration, with further investigation revealing other arrestable violations. K9 “Cap” was walked around the vehicle for an open-air sniff for narcotics that possibly were located inside the car. K9 “Cap” alerted to the open driver’s side window and gave a final response (sat down) – alerting to possible drugs. Officers located a pill bottle inside a lunch bag on the passenger seat containing a white powdery substance, with a small black straw nearby. A subsequent test proved positive for cocaine. Zavoral was arrested and charged with no valid driver’s license – expired more than a year, expired registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance. He was released with a pretrial notice to appear.

October 9, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a Monee detective met with Terrence G. Testa Jr., 37, of the 4800 block of W. 91st Place in Oak Lawn, regarding violating a civil no-contact order. Testa came to the Monee Police Department to turn himself in after knowingly violating the served order, was processed, and released on a pretrial notice to appear.

October 12, at approximately 6:19 p.m., officers responded to the Amazon Fulfillment Center, 6605 W. Monee-Manhattan Road, for a theft. Upon arrival, they met with the loss prevention supervisor, who identified Amazon employee Daimond S. Collins, 19, of W. 35th Street in Steger, as the person who was accused of taking an Apple iPhone 12 pro. The phone is valued at $595. Collins was arrested for felony theft and released with a pretrial notice to appear.

October 14, at approximately 5:34 p.m., a traffic stop ended with the arrest of Geavontae T. Brown, 23, of the 3100 block of Butler Avenue, in Steger. Officers discovered during the traffic stop that Brown had an active warrant for failure to appear. Officers advised him that he had an active warrant and placed him in custody. He informed the officers he had a gun behind the passenger seat on the floor. Brown did not have the proper credentials to have the gun in the vehicle. He was charged with driving with an expired registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, plus aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, and released with a pretrial notice to appear.
