Monee Police Blotter: November 4 – 11

November 4, at 12:39 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Amazon Warehouse, 6605 W. Monee-Manhattan Road, in reference to a theft. Upon their arrival, they were met by the loss prevention officer and told they had an employee in their office who stole multiple items worth more than $500. Officers arrested Marshawn D. McGarry, 20, of the 8600 block of S. Manistee Avenue, Chicago, for theft of property over $500. McGarry was processed at the Monee Police Department and released with a notice-to-appear.

November 6, at approximately 3:49 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Geavontae T. Brown, 23, of the 3100 block of Butler Avenue, Steger, for driving with an expired registration and an in-state warrant from Will County for failure to appear (FTA). Brown was transported to the Monee Police Department for booking, then taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for further processing and court appearance.

November 7, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a subject entered the Pilot Travel Center with an unknown tool and went to the digital gaming room. The subject was able to break into a game machine and remove the internal cash box, which contained an undisclosed amount of currency. The theft was not discovered until later during the changing of shifts. Monee detectives are investigating.

November 9, at approximately 12 a.m., a traffic stop on Egyptian Trail resulted in the arrest of Keaunte C. Ferguson, 23, of the 1800 block of S. Racine Avenue, Chicago, for driving with a suspended or revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, and failure to dim headlights. Ferguson was released with a notice to appear.

November 9, at approximately 6:25 p.m., a traffic stop on Monee-Manhattan Road resulted in the arrest of Jerold A. Lipscomb, 38, of the 13900 block of S. School Street, Riverdale, for driving with suspended or revoked license, expired registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Lipscomb was cited and released.

November 11, at approximately 5:24 p.m., a traffic stop on the southbound off ramp to I-57 at Monee-Manhattan Road resulted in the arrest of Rito Contreras, 43, of the 100 block of Apple Lane, Bourbonnais, for driving with revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, suspended registration, and illegal transportation or possession of alcohol or liquor by a driver in a motor vehicle. Contreras was cited and released.

November 11, at approximately 9:20 p.m., a traffic stop on Monee-Manhattan Road resulted in the arrest of Artes Strong, 19, of the 4900 block of Mission Drive, Richton Park, for improper lighting and possession of a controlled substance. Strong was cited released.
