Monee Police Blotter: January 23 – 29
On January 23, at approximately 9:58 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Marlon Sanchez, 41, of Blue Island. Sanchez was issued citations for not having a valid driver’s license that was expired for more than one year and equipment violations. Sanchez was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
January 25, at approximately 5:38 p.m., officers responded to the Liquor Depot, 25655 S. Governors Highway, concerning a two-car vehicle accident. The accident occurred at Governors Highway and Court Street but relocated to the Liquor Depot. Upon arrival, Monee Officers interviewed the drivers and noticed a strong smell of alcoholic beverages emanating from the driver that evidence showed caused the accident. Kimberly Dertz, 54, of Tinley Park, was arrested and taken to the Monee Police Department and processed for DUI. Dertz was issued citations for improper lane usage, transportation or possession of open alcohol by the driver, and driving under the influence. Dertz was released with a notice-to-appear via her citations.
January 26, at approximately 9:12 p.m., officers responded to the Amazon facility, 6605 Monee-Manhattan Road, for delayed theft. Upon arrival, officers met with the Amazon Loss Prevention Specialist. They were given evidence from Amazon’s internal investigation that showed employee “Picker” Aaryon Pore, 21, of Kankakee, was responsible for stealing merchandise. Monee Officers placed Pore in custody for theft. Pore was processed and released with a pre-trial notice-to-appear.
January 28, at approximately 5:34 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Larry Thompson, 52, of Country Club Hills, for speeding, expired registration, and operating a motor vehicle with no valid license. Thompson was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
January 29, at approximately 9:57 a.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Thomas Smith, 61, of Chicago Heights, for disobeying a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle when registration suspended for non-insurance, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Smith was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
