Warren Brown, a former Park Forest resident, will portray Mark Twain in his award-winning Chautauqua-style program, “Catch the Twain” for the Park Forest Historical Society, on Sunday, May 19, at 2:30 p.m., in Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. The meeting also will include an Ice Cream Social to thank members, donors, and volunteers of the Park Forest Historical Society. More information is with Chris Janota via the society website www.parkforesthistory.org.

“Catch the Twain” promotes an appreciation for humanity in a way that is humorous, inspirational, and historically amusing. As Mark Twain said, “Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.”

Warren Brown was awarded the Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award in 2000. This program has been endorsed by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Illinois Humanities Council, and the Illinois Arts Council.
