Monee Police Blotter: December 27 – January 2
December 28, at 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the 25600 block of S. Steger-Monee Road to investigate a hit-and-run accident. The victim reported the offending vehicle crashed into the back of his vehicle, causing him to lose control, and drive into a ditch. The offending vehicle, a small unknown make, pick-up truck, continued southbound on S. Steger-Monee Road toward W. Crete-Monee Road. Any witnesses to this accident are encouraged to contact Det. DePaolo at 708 534-8308.
December 28, at 5:10 a.m., Lorenzo C. Lomax, 23, of Calumet City, was arrested in the 6000 block of W. Monee-Manhattan Road for driving with a suspended driver’s license after being stopped for driving with no taillights. Lomax was bonded and released.
December 29, at 3 p.m., Sonee P. McClellan, 31, of Ford Heights, was arrested for theft after she allegedly stole electronic items from Amazon. McClellan, an employee of Amazon, was viewed on a surveillance camera taking and concealing the electronic items. McClellan was bonded and released.
December 31, at 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a hotel in the 5800 block of W. Monee-Manhattan Road to investigate a disturbance. During the investigation, officers learned one of the subjects involved, Cameron G. Jackson, 23, of University Park, had a valid failure-to-appear warrant issued by the Will County Sheriff’s Office, $5,000, 10 percent to apply. Jackson was taken into custody for the warrant and was found to have illegal cannabis in his possession. He was issued a civil citation for the illegal cannabis. Jackson was unable to post bond for the warrant and was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
