Doris M. Uribe

Spread the love

Doris Marie (Pepin) Uribe, 92 of Kankakee, went to Heaven on April 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 6, 1930, in Kankakee, she was the daughter of William J. and Fern (Francoeur) Pepin.

Doris graduated from St. Patrick’s Academy in Momence. On April 28, 1951, she married the love of her life, Earle “Bud” Uribe. They spent 69 happy years together until his passing on May 18, 2020.

Doris loved cooking and baking, and her family dinners often included grandparents, uncles, and other extended family members. She was a wonderful seamstress, who enjoyed helping others, plus bowling and dancing in her younger years. Doris belonged to the Ladies Church Guild and was a devout Catholic. She later became a beautician and worked at a shop in her home and at Heritage House for more than 20 years.

Surviving are sons, Thomas (Julie) Uribe of Beaverville, Greg (Lucy) Uribe of Beatty, Nevada, and Douglas (Diana) Uribe of Bourbonnais; daughters, Renee (Brian) Ritchie of Germantown, Tennessee, and Desiree (Bruce) Grant of Kankakee; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Jerry) Pepin of Lubbock, Texas; special longtime friend, Betty Azzarelli; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Earle “Bud” Uribe, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandchild, Baby Journey Menigoz Uribe; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Arlynda and Bob Leriger and Patricia and Leland Denault; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Zelma and Thomas Uribe.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on April 11, at St. John Paul II-West Campus, with private family interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the donor’s choice. Please sign her guestbook at www.clancygernon.com.
