Baylor University, in Waco, Texas, recently announced its summer graduates. Commencement ceremonies were held on August 13, in the Ferrell Center. Congratulations to Colin Marz, of Crete, who was awarded a Doctor of Physical Therapy, from the Army-Baylor Physical Therapy, Graduate School.

The University of Iowa’s fall incoming freshman class, in Iowa City, has topped previous records with an average high school grade-point average (GPA) of 3.82. It is also the third-largest incoming first-year class on record at 5,178 students, after 5,643 in the fall of 2016 and 5,241 in the fall of 2015.

From Manhattan: Madison Medina – Nursing.

From Monee: Dominick Esquivel – Biochemistry.

From New Lenox: Mia Alamawi – Open Major; Mia Fares – Speech and Hearing Science; Meghan Harrington – Open Major; Katlyn Kinsch – Elementary Education Interest; Tallen Lawrence – Engineering Interest; Aidan McFarland – Cinema; Casey Petrosky – Computer Science; Brooke Revor – Pre-Med; Brooke Santefort – Pre-Business; Drew Sapato – Computer Science; Kate Semetulskis – Psychology; Joshua Stefans – Sport and Recreation Management; Joseph Wroble – Computer Science; Emma So – Nursing; Jeremy Kwak – Business Direct Admission; and Taylor Wos – Business Direct Admission.
