Clove Alliance SAAM April Event Calendar

April is dedicated to raising awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). It’s important to acknowledge a significant number of individuals have been impacted by sexual assault in their lifetimes. Throughout April, Clove Alliance aims to promote awareness and prevention of sexual violence, harassment, and abuse and believes, supports, and empowers survivors of sexual violence.
Staff encourage the community to join them in shining a light on survivors and hope to see members of the community at some of the many SAAM events throughout April.
- Fourth Annual Brave, Bold, and Believed Art Show at the Kankakee County Museum may be viewed during museum hours through May 1.
- Communication and Collaboration: Supporting Survivors with Disabilities will be held on Friday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at KCC. This interactive presentation outlines best practices for supporting people with disabilities who are survivors of sexual assault. CEUs/QIDP CEUs available.
- Business Before Hours is on Wednesday, April 24, from 7:30-9 a.m., at Clove Alliance. Connect with the staff and learn more about Clove Alliance! Guests will have the opportunity to tour the building, enjoy coffee and rolls, and network with other business community members.
- 40-Hour Crisis Intervention Volunteer Training begins Monday, April 29. Volunteers are often the first contact survivors have with this organization, and they can have an enormous impact on a survivor’s healing journey. To learn more email volunteer@clovealliance.org.
