Will Co. Board to Hold Special Meeting
The Will County Board will convene for a special meeting on Tuesday, March 5, at 10:45 a.m., to enforce Resolution 24-27 that was signed by the Will County Executive.
On February 15, the Will County Board voted in a bi-partisan majority, 12-9, to pass Resolution 24-27, “Directing the Will County Division of Transportation to Cease Moving Forward with the 143rd Street Expansion Road Project, as currently planned.”
Subsequently, Resolution 24-27 was signed by the county executive, returned to the clerk, and distributed to the county board. Four days later the county executive took another action on the same resolution.
“As Chairman of the County Board, once a resolution is signed by the county executive it becomes effective. That’s how it’s always been. The special meeting has been called to protect the integrity of our county government and the residents we serve,” said Will County Board Chairman Judy Ogalla.
