The Lincolnway Special Recreation Association (LWSRA), visionaries in creating and implementing adaptive programming for people with disabilities, has been selected to host the 2022 National Wheelchair Basketball Association League (NAWBL) World Championship tournament at Lincoln-Way North High School in Frankfort, May 12-14.

“LWSRA is humbled by the opportunity to host such an important event for the NAWBL community,” said Keith Wallace, LWSRA Executive Director. Founded in 1976, LWSRA provides both adaptive and special recreation services for individuals with disabilities, through a cooperative agreement with Frankfort, Frankfort Square, Mokena, New Lenox, and the Peotone Park District in the Chicago Southland region.

The NAWBL World Championship will see some of the greatest men, women, and military players and teams from North America competing in the three-day event.

“We’re thrilled the NAWBL chose the Chicago Southland and are excited to see these incredible athletes compete for the World Championship!” said Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau President/CEO Jim Garrett.
