National Talent Fills Annual Festival’s Main Stage June 10-11

Thirty-third annual festival set for June 10 – 11 at Goold Park.

Beautiful Goold Park, 308 Northern Avenue, Morris, again will be the location for this year’s Gebhard Woods Dulcimer and Traditional Music Festival.

Hosted by Hammers and Noters Dulcimer Society (HANDS) of Illinois on June 10 – 11, the festival will feature hourly performances and workshops from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. both days. The event is family friendly and welcoming, attracting both dulcimer devotees and the broader music loving community.

Featured national talent includes: Bing Futch, Rick Thum, Kara Barnard, Priya Darshini, House of Waters, Grant Olson, The Lady Victoria, The Fiddle Section, Mike Anderson, and Diane Ippel.

Renowned local talent will include: Joel Styzens, Bill Robinson and Friends, Andina and Rich, and Trillium.

Performances feature both hammered dulcimer and mountain dulcimer in a wide variety of musical styles, including contemporary, old-time, bluegrass, jazz, blues, and more.

The festival also features 65 workshops (all levels) led by more than 30 instructors in hammered and mountain dulcimer, rhythm, ukulele, voice, and related musical topics (Schedules available on website); open stage signups for those wishing to share their musical talents; master instrument builders and related vendors; supervised activities for children; scheduled open jam sessions on site; plus food and beverages will be available. Activities also will include a Dulcimer Old-Time Dance, with caller Tony Scarimbolo and live music by Bill Robinson and Friends on Saturday, June 10, at Goold Park, at 6 p.m.
