‘Meet the Author,’ ‘Date at the Museum’ Coming to Kankakee
On Saturday, February 11, the Kankakee Historical Society will host “Date Night at the Museum, beginning at 6 p.m., at 801 S. Eighth Avenue in Kankakee.
Enjoy a unique evening at the museum with that special someone. Dinner is catered by the Bennett-Curtis House, with a “Lady and the Tramp” theme. Tickets may be purchased online through February 5 and are $75 per couple. Following dessert, guests are invited to participate in a self-paced scavenger hunt throughout the museum!
Kankakee County Historical Society also will present “The Secret Life of Postcards Book Club and Meet the Author Event, on Saturday, February 18, at 11 a.m., at the Kankakee County Museum, Small Memorial Park.
Join others on February 18, for its first adult book club of the year. The discussion includes thought-provoking questions provided by the author herself, Melanie Holmes. Participants will have the opportunity to meet her and engage in intellectual conversation. Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP on the museum’s website at www.kankakeecountymuseum.com.
Books may be purchased in the museum’s store, Thursday – Saturday, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Discussion questions are provided on the event’s page of the museum’s website and also will be emailed to those who register early!
