Congratulations go to three recent hires for the Manteno Police Department who completed the Illinois State Police (ISP) Academy in November, including Jonathan Dokter, Miranda Sinadinos, and Jacob Nelson. These officers completed 560 hours (14 weeks) of intensive training – a standard of training that has increased during the past few decades, according to MPD Chief Alan Swinford. The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board is charged with statewide standards for probationary and permanent police officers.
Another recent hire for Manteno PD is Karen Brandt, who came to the department already having completed the academy. These new hires round out a team of 20 full-time officers, including Chief Swinford and an Animal Control Officer. Manteno PD encourages interaction and feedback from the community. Please reach out by phone (815-929-4801) or email (mpd@villageofmanteno.com). And if you see an officer, say hello. There’s no need to wait until August’s National Night Out – an evening designed to bring together law enforcement and the citizens they serve and protect.
Warm wishes are extended to all officers and their families.
