PHOTO CAPTION – JoAnn Lindert bottlefeeding lambs on Lambert Farm

JoAnn Lindert bottle-feeds lambs on the Lambert farm in Bourbonnais Township; a necessary springtime activity since mama lambs (ewes) can only suckle up to two babies at a time, but often give birth to a litter of three or four. This neighbor-helping-neighbor action began for JoAnn a dozen years ago when her husband, Russ Lindert, offered to help the Lamberts as a way of connecting with his own FFA days and living on a farm in Homewood, Illinois. -Photo submitted.
