On Saturday, December 3, Christmas will come to Perry Farm Park in Bourbonnais. Santa’s elves now are busy preparing the grounds for the first “Christmas on the Farm.”

Festivities begin at 9 a.m., with Perry Farm House busy with games and activities for the entire family. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the star of the event will be Santa, who will be available for pictures in the farm’s historic barn. Families are encouraged to arrive early, if they wish to visit Santa.

There also will be activities happening while children wait their turn to talk to Santa, including games, such as lumberjack toss, penguin bowling, candy cane fishing, and snowman toss. For those who enjoy crafting, there will be cookie-decorating stations inside Perry Farm House and do-it-yourself mugs in Santa’s Workshop.

A coloring contest was new this year. Winners will be announced at 1 p.m. and awarded a holiday edition Teddy Mountain stuffed animal. There also will be carriage rides through the woods, along with the ever-popular barrel trains.

Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at any of the Bourbonnais Township Park District facilities. To learn more, visit BTPD.org/Christmas. Pre-sale family ticket bundles also are on sale now. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged.
