At the Bourbonnais Village Board Meeting on Monday, December 18, village board trustees approved the purchase of approximately eight acres of land near the intersection of Briarcliff Lane and Plum Creek Drive.  The property, which has a purchase price of $830,000, is right across Briarcliff from the Bourbonnais Municipal Building. Proceeds for the purchase will come from bonds sold to renovate and re-landscape the village’s municipal campus.

The two plots currently are zoned “central business” and could be developed as public space. Mayor Paul Schore said public input will be sought for what kind of development might be done there. He said there are several options the village is considering for the property.
