Wi-Fi hotspots now are available for checkout for Beecher cardholders ages 18 and over. Hotspots may be checked out for one week and are able to be taken anywhere for internet on the go! Visit beecherlibrary.org/devices for more information.
Our Summer Reading Special Event, Animals Around the World, is Friday, June 16, at 10 a.m., at Washington Township Community Hall. Meet animal ambassadors from the Amazon Rain Forest, Africa, Australia, and several other places around the world! Participants will get to see a skunk, rabbit, ball python, corn snake, armadillo, sugar gliders, bats, and special guest Rico, the two-toed sloth. Those attending even will get to pet some of the animals! This program is for all ages, and no registration is required.
The Summer Reading Program, Find Your Voice, has begun! Participants of all ages, even adults, can win prizes just for reading. Visit the library to register!
The library’s tadpole is getting bigger, and we’re eagerly looking to see when it’s going to grow legs! Visit the library through July to watch its progress in becoming a frog!
Youth Services
A new take-and-make frog hat craft is available. Pick up any time.
June 8 and 15, at 10 a.m., Summer Storytime in Firemen’s Park: Enjoy stories, games, music, and crafts/activities! Storytime will take place at the band stand at Firemen’s Park. Bring a blanket or folding chair to sit on. Call the library to register.
June 13, at 4 p.m., plus June 14, at 4 and 6 p.m., Tissue Paper Painting for kids ages 6+: Create a white crayon drawing with a multicolor tissue paper background. Call to register by Friday, June 9.
Adult Services
June 8, 13, and 15, from 2-5 p.m., One-on-One Technology Help: Sit down for a half hour and receive technology help with any of your devices, including phones, tablets, and laptops. Receive help with apps, email, Facebook and social media, computer basics, or get any other technology questions answered. Call to register.
The June Afternoon Book Club will meet on Friday, June 9, at 1 p.m., to discuss “Mrs. Kennedy and Me,” by Clint Hill.
The Evening Book Discussion short story is available for pickup. The group will discuss “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County,” by Mark Twain, on Monday, June 26, at 7 p.m.
