Call the library at 708-946-9090 for programs that require registration.

Happy Holidays! The library will be closed on Saturday, December 23, Monday, December 25, Saturday, December 29, and Monday, January 1.

The library’s Penfield Street parking lot entrance will be closed until spring, but the Maxwell Street entrance is open. Turn north on Maxwell from Indiana Avenue to get to the library.

Youth Services

The December take-and-make craft is available! Pick up any time.

December 28, at 11:30 a.m., Noon-Year’s Eve Party for Kids eight-plus: Kids will enjoy games and activities before ringing in the “noon-year” at noon, with balloons and confetti. Call to register.

Elf on a Bookshelf: Libby the Elf is hiding in different spots in the library. Find her to earn a sticker and raffle ticket for a small prize. Children are allowed to find her daily! Filling out a raffle ticket every time is also an easy and fun way to teach kids their phone number.

Christmas Card Making: Drop in the library any time to decorate a Christmas card to send to a loved one.

Adult Services

December 21, 26, and 28, from 2-5 p.m., One-on-One Technology Help: Sit down for a half hour and receive technology help with any of your devices, including phones, tablets, and laptops.  Receive help with apps, email, Facebook and social media, computer basics, or get any other technology questions answered. Call to register.

The Afternoon Book Club book is available for pick up. The group will be reading “Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World,” by Vicki Myron, on January 12, at 1 p.m.
