Sign up for a fun bird hike or learn how to fish during upcoming Forest Preserve District of Will County programs. Online registration is available on the Event Calendar at ReconnectWithNature.org. Here is the lineup…

Migratory Bird Hike at Four Rivers, from 8-10 a.m., Saturday, May 27, Four Rivers Environmental Education Center, Channahon: Join a naturalist on a hike through several different habitats within the preserve. Hear the songs of the finches and orioles and spot the tiny warblers dancing in the branches. Free, ages 12 or older. Register by May 26.

First Time Fishing, from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, May 27, Monee Reservoir: Learn basic skills every angler should know, including how to put together a pole, tie a knot, bait a hook, and cast. Program participants gain hands-on experience, while fishing along the shore in the second hour. Everything needed for the program, including bait, is provided. Ages seven or older; $5 per person. Register by May 26.

Whoooo’s for Dinner, from 7-8:30 p.m., Saturday, May 27, Hidden Oaks Nature Center, Bolingbrook: Join a naturalist for this fun opportunity to dissect owl pellets. Afterward, tune your ears to the trees and take a hike in the forest for a chance to experience hooting friends. Free, ages eight or older. Register by May 26.

Morning Bird Hike, from 8-10 a.m., Sunday, May 28, Hickory Creek Preserve – LaPorte Road Access, Mokena: Join this guided hike to look for birds during migration. Beginning birders are welcome, as this is a great way to learn birds and birding. Bring binoculars and a favorite bird guide. Free, ages 16 or older. Register by May 27.
