Peotone High School Coach Updates
The Varsity Soccer team started playoffs with a 4-0 victory over Coal City. Allie Walsh opened up the scoring with the lone goal in the first half. Madi Schroeder scored two quick goals to open up the second half, with Dani Piper putting the game away with a strike of her own. Addie Graffeo, Madi Schroeder, and Dani Piper recorded assists on the day. Jenna Hunter recorded her 10th shutout of the season, backed by yet another strong performance by the defense. The girls will play for a Regional Championship on May 13, where they await the winner of Wilmington and Reed-Custer.
Track and Field Team competed at Coal City May 9 in the Black Diamond Classic. There were outstanding races and field events by every participant in the beautiful 80 degree weather. Wyatt Loock achieved a personal best in the 200 meter race, discus and shot put. Roman Jelinek and Aidan Siegal achieved personal bests in the 1600 meter race. Tori Corneiller achieved a personal best in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and in the 100 meter hurdles. Hanna Clousing achieved a personal best in the 100 meter hurdles. Alicia Hunding achieved a personal best in the 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, and in long jump. Mia Kuypers achieved a personal best in the 1600 meter race and took third place overall. Terrynn Clott achieved a personal best in shot put and took second place overall. Dawson Piper had a photo finish with Manteno in the 100 meter dash, ending the race with the “griddy” at the finish line. The girls compete at sectionals on May 12.
