The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) announced the All-Academic Teams for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. The requirements for a student-athlete to receive All-Academic honors from the MCVL are to have a 3.3 or higher GPA and the earning of a varsity letter. Congratulations to Kyle Dixon and Ryan McDonald, both of New Lenox.

Graduates

Sam Bayaa, of Manhattan, was awarded a Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, at May Commencement exercises at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Bradley University, Peoria, announced the following local students who earned degrees in May:

From Manhattan – Kaitlyn Goetz, BS, Family and Consumer Sciences, Dietetics.

From Monee – Alexis Cannon, BA, Psychology.

From New Lenox – Nathan Dluzak, BS, Actuarial Science – Business, Business Analytics; Don Brongiel, BSEE, Electrical Engineering; Nicholas Ruskowsky, BSEE, Electrical Engineering, Computer Option; Jamie Furtek, BSN, Nursing; Abigail Stepien, BSN, Nursing; Mairghread Ebel, BSN, Nursing; and Annabelle Pries, MS, Game Design and Development.

Dean’s/President’s List

More than 6,200 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students were named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester, including: Jason Nathaniel Wendling, from Crete: Megan Gerl, from Manhattan; and Zachary Hutchinson, from New Lenox.

Loras College, in Dubuque, Iowa, announced the names of students who achieved Dean’s List status for the spring semester, including Trevor Schwiesow and Drake Sorensen, both from Peotone.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced its Dean’s List, honoring those full-time students who earned high honors in the spring semester, including Alyssa Peterson, from New Lenox, who is majoring in Mehcanical Engineering.

Earning a spot on Drury University’s Dean’s List, in Springfield, Missouri, for the spring semester is local student John Tamburo, from New Lenox.

Lewis University, in Romeoville, recently announced students named to its spring Dean’s List, including the following local students:

From Beecher – Shannon Haggerty and Mitchell Schrimsher.

From Crete – Kayla Gomez and Alexandria Wilson.

From Manhattan – Hannah Chapman, Joshua McLean, and Christina Petrou.

From Monee – Cassandra Botello, Rofelio Botello, and Abbey Neetz.

From New Lenox – Bryan Avalos, Alexandra Baranski, Cassidy Brow, Evan Burns, Andrew Burton, Alexis Carlino, Angelina Cortesi, Lindsey Coveny, Justin Darlage, Amanda Doran, Griffin Ebel, Madison Flondor, Sean Ford, Camryn Gervase, Tara Gugliuzza, Taylor Gugliuzza, Bridget Humphries, Luke Juricek Sean Klosowski, Savannah Klozik, Brooke Koniuszy, Nicole Koschnitzki, Jenna Lack, Ashley Macica, Courtney Mahalik, Norman Paz-Ramirez, Pavlos Peters, Steven Plane, Victor Rosas, Rebekkah Schimick, Brindyn Schultz, Constance Senese, Sara Siepak, Tyler Walshon, Madison Weis, Hayley Weston, Hannah Yep, and Emma Young.
