Voter Registration Deadlines Approaching Quickly; Options Still Available!
Will County Clerk Lauren Staley Ferry encourages all eligible Will County residents to register to vote for the upcoming Consolidated Election and reminds everyone registration deadlines rapidly are approaching. The last day to register to vote in person or by mail was March 7, but online registration is open through Sunday, March 19. The Will County Clerk’s website, willcountyclerk.gov, contains a link to register online through the Illinois Online Voter Application website.
Will County residents who miss these deadlines still have options to register and vote. They may:
•Visit the Will County Clerk’s Office, 302 N. Chicago Street in downtown Joliet, through Election Day to participate in Grace Period Registration and Voting. If you choose this option, you must register and cast your ballot on the same day.
•Participate in Grace Period Registration and Voting when Early Voting expands to more than 20 locations across Will County, starting on Monday, March 20. Visit the Will County Clerk’s website for a complete list of Early Voting locations and hours.
•Go to your designated polling place on Election Day for Same Day Registration. Visit the Will County Clerk’s website to find your polling place by typing in your address.
“Voting is the most effective way citizens in a democracy can make their voices heard,” Staley Ferry said. “We’re doing everything we can to make certain that registration is simple and easy so every eligible voter has access to the ballot box.”
