UpliftedCare Community Grief Center Groups
UpliftedCare Community Grief Center staff hope you will join them for their Caregiver Support Group, on the second Wednesday of each month, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Center, 3115 N. 1000 West Road in Bourbonnais. Family caregiving is both a noble and challenging endeavor. If you’re a family caregiver, you know the role comes with a unique mix of joy and heartache, fulfillment, and stress. You are not alone on this complex path. UpliftedCare understands the ups and downs of caregiving and now is offering its Caregivers Support Group, designed to provide support, understanding, and expert advice with different topics each month. Light lunch/refreshments will be served. To ensure adequate materials are prepared, please RSVP for this event by calling 815-939-4141.
UpliftedCare also invites residents to the Tear Soup Grief Workshop, on Thursday, October 24, from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at the Center. This workshop will have a meal, followed by the reading on screen of the book entitled “Tear Soup,” which focuses on the different aspects of grief people may not recognize, while offering tips on how to cope with these emotions. Participants then will make a craft representing the lesson in the book, along with some discussion for those who wish to participate. This free workshop is open to individuals and families with children ages five and up. All workshop materials and light refreshments will be provided. Registration is required to attend so materials may be prepared. Call today.
All veterans are invited to the UpliftedCare Community Grief Center to attend the Vet-to-Vet Café, from 9 – 11 a.m., on Wednesday, October 16. Veterans have an opportunity to meet other community veterans, share stories, access resources, and make new connections. Coffee and light snacks are provided.
