By Stephen Nelson
At its Tuesday, March 14, meeting, the Kankakee County Board approved a proclamation declaring March as CSL Behring Month. The company operates a manufacturing facility at Rt. 50 and Armour Road that began in 1953, with other owners and under the name Armour Laboratories. CSL is a leading global biotechnology company, with operations in 40+ countries.

The proclamation reads in part: “Whereas CSL Behring has operated its manufacturing facility in Kankakee County for 70 years and has been a generational employer, and whereas CSL Behring’s parent company CSL is opening its newest plasma collection center at its Kankakee location, and whereas CSL Behring has completed the largest expansion by an existing employer in the State of Illinois, be it hereby proclaimed the month of March is CSL Behring Month in Kankakee County.”
