Dear Editor:

It is my honor to recommend Jeanine Galbraith for re-election as the District 4 CM201-U School Board member. Jeanine has lived in Crete for 31 years with her husband, Bill, of 37 years. Mrs. Galbraith is retired from the Chicago Tribune after 40 years of service. Jeanine is an active member of the broader Crete Community with involvement in many civic activities including Crete Woman’s Club.

Jeanine Galbraith has achieved the level of IASB Distinguished Board Member, which is accomplished by attending conventions, training classes and seminars. Jeanine takes her responsibility as a School Board member seriously and is committed to continued education and training so as to best serve the 201-U District.

Jeanine first ran for the School Board District eight years ago because she believed the district lacked a solid foundation. The Crete, Monee and University Park communities now appreciate a school district that is responsive to everyone in the community.

Beyond Jeanine’s participation in classes and training for Board members, she takes the time to speak and interact with employees/students for their input/ideas, including active membership on many committees – currently serves on the District bargaining team for CMEA negotiations, previously on the District bargaining team for ACME negotiations, a member of the District Safety Committee, District Insurance Committee, Healing Paws Committee and attends the monthly First Responders meetings.

Jeanine Galbraith intends to continue her good work in three areas that need to continually be addressed: funding, facilities and curriculum. Jeanine would like to see extended programs with trades classes introduced.

Jeanine Galbraith has given a great deal of time and offers experience to the position of School Board member in District 4. Jeanine cares about the employees. She earnestly works to provide the best educational opportunities to the students.

Since Jeanine was elected eight years ago her leadership has achieved the following accomplishments: NJROTC, manufacturing classes, Healing Paws Therapy Dog Program, Unity Kitchen, a balanced budget and the Community Mentoring Program.

Please vote for Jeanine Galbraith April 4.

Mary Ann “Gearhart” Deutsche
