Help save lives from cancer; be part of American Cancer Society Relay for Life on June 10.
Join the fight against cancer, as the community rallies on June 10, to honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change. The Relay for Life of Kankakee County will celebrate its 28th year anniversary with the theme Every Step Brings Hope!
For more than 36 years, participants and volunteers across the world have come together and raised nearly $6.65 billion to save lives from cancer. Relay for Life continues to be more than just an event – it’s a movement, a community of like-minded survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and participants, who believe the future can be cancer free. Even a pandemic can’t stop the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society.
This year’s Relay for Life will be held on Saturday, June 10, from 2 – 10 p.m., at Bishop McNamara Catholic School, 550 W. Brookmont Blvd., Kankakee, with the following schedule of events: 2 p.m. – Opening Ceremony; 2:15 p.m. – Survivors Lap; 2:30 p.m. – Caregivers Lap; 2:50 p.m. – Teams Spirit Lap; 3 – 8:45 p.m. – DJ, music, theme laps, poker lap, entertainment, team fundraisers, food, kids zone, games, prizes, and much more; and 9 p.m. – Luminaria Ceremony.
Funds raised help the American Cancer Society conduct breakthrough research, provide 24/7 support for cancer patients, and access to lifesaving screenings.
