Join Legion Color Guard on Memorial Day

The public are encouraged and invited to join the Manteno Legion Color Guard as they honor fallen military and other deceased community members on Memorial Day, May 29.
On Memorial Day, the Manteno Legion Color Guard will conduct a memorial remembrance at five area cemeteries, followed by a ceremony at Manteno Legion Park. After the ceremony at Legion Park, there will be food and beverages provided by the Manteno American Legion and the Ladies Legion Auxiliary of Manteno Post 755. The public is encouraged and invited to attend these events.
The morning’s events are scheduled at: 8 a.m. – Deselm Cemetery; 8:30 a.m. – Blooms Grove Cemetery; 9 a.m. – Veterans Cemetery; 9:30 a.m. – St. Joseph Cemetery; 9:50 a.m. – Elmwood Cemetery; 11 a.m. – Legion Park; and at 10:45 a.m., the Color Guard will step off from Post 755 and march to Legion Park for the final ceremony.
