ILHS Ladies Lose Season Opener
In their season opener, on Monday, November 14, a young Illinois Lutheran Women’s Basketball Team showed grit and determination against Kankakee Trinity Academy, in front of the home crowd. Despite the 19-29 loss, the Chargers fought back from a 10-point halftime deficit to make it only four, but it just wasn’t enough.
Sophomore Kimberly Danielewica led the Chargers’ scoring with 6 points and a 50 percent shooting stat. She also led her team with 5 rebounds.
New Head Coach Philip Adickes, who was the assistant coach for the past four years, is excited to lead the Chargers and said he was incredibly proud of the team for their continued competition during all four quarters of the game.
Assistant Coaches Julie Schmidt and Chris Caldwell, both also new to the program, look forward to working with this young team as the season progresses.
