ILHS Basketball Updates
Both the girls and boys Illinois Lutheran High School varsity basketball teams were in action on Monday, November 21.
For the ladies, Christ the King outscored the Chargers, 50-21, in court action, although the Chargers girls scored more than 20 points for the first time this season. They also worked hard to improve their rebounding, with a total of 18. Ashley Gunderson led the team in scoring with 8.
According to Coach Phil Adickes, the team continued to play hard and didn’t give up. Outscoring CTK in the fourth quarter by one point was proof of that.
The boys’ Charger basketball team were on the court on November 21, with a non-conference game at Kankakee Trinity Academy, but they also came up short, 34-59.
In the second half, the Chargers showed much better scoring – 22 to 26 points, as opposed to their first half’s stats of 12 to 33. Jack Callejo led the team with 11 points and was followed closely by Kobe Johnson with 9 points
