Genealogical Society Presents ‘They Lived Where?’ at KPL
The Kankakee Valley Genealogical Society will host Laura Kovarik at its next meeting, Saturday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m., at the Kankakee Public Library, 201 E. Merchant Street. Kovarik will present the program “They Lived Where? Tips for Researching Locations.”
Location research shows the details surrounding a family, giving context and understanding to their lives. The program will take a look at location research across time, learning what to do when you recognize the place, and especially when you don’t.
Kovarik has been involved in genealogical research for more than 25 years and held leadership and educational positions at both the local and state levels, including past president of the Illinois State Genealogical Society.
A brief business meeting will follow the program, which are free and open to the public. No registration is required. Questions can be directed to the Kankakee Public Library by calling 815-939-4564.
