Clarence “Gus” Ginter
Clarence “Gus” Marshall Ginter, Jr., age 90, passed away December 14, 2018, at his home in Livonia.
Ginter was born in Harvey, to Clarence M. Ginter Sr. and Amelia Behrens Ginter.
He attended high school in Peotone and, after graduation, enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a radar technician.
He received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy, where he graduated in 1951.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to Peotone.
In 1968, he moved to Michigan, where he worked for U.S. Gypsum Company as an engineer and married Gladys Joy Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of 49 years; children Thomas (Josie) and Christina Ginter (Steven Berriman); grandchildren Rachel, Julia, and Sabrina; sister Marjorie Rogers; and many other loving family and friends.
Visitation services were held December 18 at Fred Wood Funeral Home~Rice Chapel, Livonia, MI.
He was preceded in death by a son, Fr. Michael Ginter.
