The Chargers had a long week of volleyball, starting with the Lutheran Invitational Tournament held at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee on Saturday, September 28. The Chargers faced some very tough competition against schools more than double their size.

The day started against state-ranked Manitowoc Lutheran, and the Chargers lost, 12-25, 12-25. The Chargers then lost to Lakeside Lutheran, 3-25, 16-25. The next match against Shoreland Lutheran saw the Chargers gain some momentum in the first set, but they lost a close first set 24-26, before dropping the second set and match 10-25. They then played a more competitive match against Winnebago Lutheran Academy but lost, 17-25, 20-25. The last match of the day against Luther High also resulted in a 12-25, 19-25 loss.

Madison Permenter received All-Tournament honors and recorded 3 aces, 13 kills, and 24 digs for the day, while Emma Nagle added 3 aces, 41 assists, 2 kills, and 20 digs.

Returning to conference play on Tuesday, October 1, ILHS traveled to TriPoint and struggled to get any type of momentum going. The Chargers dropped the match 17-25, 19-25. Anna Oestmann had 1 ace, 4 kills, and 11 digs, Emma Nagle tallied 10 assists and 8 digs, while Madison Permenter recorded 2 aces, 1 kill, and 5 digs. Mia Jacobucci added 1 ace and 8 digs, and Kimberly Danielewicz also had an ace to go with her 3 kills and 2 blocks.

On Thursday, October 3, the Chargers hosted Gardner-South Wilmington in the last conference match of the season. The Chargers started out strong and got a big lead behind an 11-point serving run by Madison Permenter. Some hitting and serving errors allowed GSW to get within 2, but the Chargers finished the first set with a 25-22 win. The two teams battled the next two sets with many long rallies, but GSW finished with 25-19 and 25-18 wins.

Emma Nagle had 1 ace, 26 assists, 1 kill, and 8 digs, Madison Permenter added 8 aces, 5 kills, and 9 digs, and Anna Oestmann led the offense and the defense with 13 kills and 26 digs. Kimberly Danielewicz tallied 2 aces, 9 kills, and one block, Mia Jacobucci recorded 1 kill and 13 digs, while Azaylia Sanchez finished with 1 ace, 3 kills, and 17 digs.
