Beecher Soccer Looking for a Great Season

Spread the love

By Dennis Bowling

First year, Beecher Girl Varsity Soccer Coach Jonathan Kypuros has been around the game for a long time, plus the Bobcats have high expectations because they have a plethora of very good players and will field a talented team.

“We’ll be a competitive team,” he said. “We are a young team, and I’m very excited about the future of our program.”

Kypuros has some very talented returning players from last year’s team that finished with a 7-10-1 overall mark. They include senior defenders Alyssa Dillinger and Carly Paulmeier. Also returning are juniors midfielder Fabi Barraza and keeper Taylor Killis.

“Alyssa is a leader by example,” he said. “She is a consistent player and has a great attitude. Carly is always there for her teammates. She has a strong foot, is very experienced, plus has good energy.”

“I like everything about Fabi,” he noted. “She is a strong leader, and her teammates support her. She is talented with both feet, has a strong shot, and always plays with her head up.”

Continuing, Coach remarked, “Taylor is just a blue-collar keeper. She can handle the contact and make good catches. She also has a strong punt.”

Coach Kypuros will have three highly touted freshman on the team, as well. They include striker Grace Durante, midfielder Ava Gaidar, and defender Teagan Claus.

“Grace has club soccer experience,” he noted. “She is a strong soccer scorer, is lightning fast, and is an excellent ball handler.”

“Ava sees the field very well,” he continued. “She has a good kick, is an excellent communicator, plus gives a full effort.”

Dillinger, who will continue her education and soccer career at Governors State University, has high hopes about the upcoming season and remarked, “I am very excited about what this team can do. Coach Kypuros will do just fine. I am very resilient and know how to defend a player. I always play hard.”

“Taylor is an excellent keeper,” she continued. “She is not afraid to dive for the ball and has good instincts. Carly is a strong player and a great communicator, while Grace, Ava, and Teagan are awesome soccer players. They have a lot of experience.”

Paulmeier, who enjoys playing with Dillinger, stated, “Alyssa is a great communicator and a very good soccer player. Fabi, who brings a lot of passion to our team, has a good punt and throw.”

Barraza feels that Paulmeier does many good things for the Bobcats and commented, “Carly is a good leader. She is a great communicator and defender. Taylor has a good eye for the ball, and Alyssa is a very good defender.”

Coach Kypuros is replacing former Bobcats Coach Dawn Compton.
