Panther Girls Basketball: Wednesday, December 21 was not a great night for the Manteno Panthers, who were in a non-conference contest against Gardner-South Wilmington. Going into winter break, the Panthers came up short, losing 53-60 to GSW.

Even though the Panthers put a lot of points on the board, the stats still showed only a 31 shooting percentage from the field. They also were unable to get the job done defensively.

On the night, Kylie Saathoff had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Katherine Gaffney added 10 points and 9 rebounds, freshman Lila Prindeville recorded 8 points, while Grace Sundeen finished with 7. Manteno is 9-6 overall and 3-2 in ICE.

Beecher Bobcat Basketball: On Tuesday, December 20, the Bobcats faced non-conference foe Coal City, in an away contest and handily won, 77-53.

For the night, Jack Hayhurst had 20 points, Adyn McGinley led with 22 points, 9 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds, while Ethan Rydberg finished with 16 points and 5 assists.

The next day, the Bobcats really turned on the heat and resoundingly walloped conference rival Tri-Point, 91-22.

Zack Johnson led the Cats with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 7 steals, and 5 assists. Jack Hayhurst added 14 points, Adyn McGinley recorded 8 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds, and Nate Diachenko finishing with 7 points and 6 rebounds. Beecher is 10-1 overall and 5-9 in the RVC going into the break.
